Waterman Holdings (“Waterman”)
is a diversified holding company established in 2004 for the purpose
of acquiring a portfolio of established, unlisted businesses based
in New Zealand. Acquisitions are financed by a prudent mixture of
debt and equity. Waterman is a long term holder of businesses and
does not acquire them with the intention of resale.
Waterman acquires and operates medium sized businesses. When considering
acquisitions it looks for a track record of profitability and positive
cash flows. These medium sized companies form the heart of the New
Zealand economy and offer significant potential. Waterman does not
seek investment in early stage opportunities.
Waterman seeks significant influence over key strategic and financial
decisions of its businesses. Our team works with the vendor over a transitional
period to ensure a smooth handover for the business and
where possible to shield, staff, suppliers and customers from the sale
process. Because we are a financial investor, dealing with Waterman
does not expose business owners to the disclosure risk inherent in dealing
with
a trade
purchaser.
The
Executive Directors, Matt Riley and Chris Marshall, welcome discussions
with owners
seeking
to
realise
the
value
of their
business. We are also interested in discussing opportunities with potential
management candidates, investors and advisory groups.
