Matt Riley has investment and acquisition, capital raising, valuation and corporate restructuring experience over a range of sectors. Matt founded Waterman with fellow director Chris Marshall in 2004.
Prior to founding Waterman Matt was an Investment Manager with private equity firm Direct Capital. Over five years he worked on a wide variety of transactions and investments including: investment in direct mail company EziBuy; EziBuy's subsequent acquisition of Myer Direct from Coles Myer; the listing of Ryman Healthcare; the investment management of EFT-POS New Zealand; and a number of other investments within Direct Capital's family of funds.
Prior to joining Direct Capital Matt was Group Financial Controller of London based hedge fund and venture capitalist IFM Asset Management Limited, a subsidiary of Rothschilds & American Insurance Group.
Matt is currently a director of Waterman Holdings Limited, Guthrie Bowron Limited, David Reid Homes Limited and Express Logistics Group Limited.

Chris founded Waterman with fellow director Matt Riley in 2004. He has extensive experience in investment management, acquisitions, divestments, corporate restructurings, and investment appraisals across a wide range of industries.
Prior to establishing Waterman Chris was an Investment Manager with private equity firm Direct Capital. In his role he completed a number of substantial merger and acquisition transactions, including lead advisor in the management buyout of Alto Plastics Limited (formerly PDL Plastics). He also managed Direct Capital's investment in Robinson Industries Limited, serving as director of the company from 2001.
Prior to joining Direct Capital Chris worked in London with Credit Suisse First Boston and then European consulting firm Mazars. He qualified as a Chartered Accountant while working with Spicer & Oppenheim in Auckland.
Chris is currently a director of Waterman Holdings Limited, Guthrie Bowron Limited, David Reid Homes Limited and an independent director of Lewis Holdings Limited, an investment company associated with David Levene.

Barrie Brown is an experienced and highly respected company director with a thorough knowledge of the New Zealand business environment. Barrie was a partner at PricewaterhouseCoopers for 25 years where he was head of Business Advisory Services. Throughout Barrie's career he has worked with a diverse range of medium sized and large businesses.
Barrie has held directorships in both public and private companies. He is currently Chairman of Waterman Holdings Limited, a Director of Bayleys Real Estate's property investment vehicle Investment Property Titles Limited, Director of Hutton Wilson Nominees Limited, Chairman of the Rotoroa Island Trust and a Fellow of the Institute of Chartered Accountants of New Zealand.

John brings to the Board considerable expertise in business gained from a career that included executive and directorship roles at ICI, Morrison PIM Holdings and Wilson & Horton Limited.
He is currently Chairman of the New Zealand Radio Network Limited and Hellaby Holdings Limited. He is also a Director of APN News and Media Limited, Delegat's Group Limited, Waterman Holdings Limited, the New Zealand School of Music and the Auckland Regional Chamber of Commerce. John was previously Chairman of Carter Holt Harvey Limited and Auckland International Airport Limited. His involvement in the community sector includes being Chairman of the South Auckland Health Foundation.

Phil's role focuses on working with investee companies to implement and execute the strategic plan. This is a change management role and fits with his core strengths in business process improvement and project management.

Amanda completes all reporting and company secretarial requirements for Waterman. Prior to joining Waterman Amanda worked in various private practice, in-house and corporate accounting roles in NZ, London and Moscow.
